Messengers of Christian Hess' art

In this section we would like to pay tribute to all those who in the 1970‘s organised and supported the project for the Rediscovery of the works of Christian Hess and helped bring about the travelling exhibition in Italy, Austria and Germany. Setting off from Sicily – the land where the Maestro sought exile – the Rediscovery exhibition helped rescue from almost certain obscurity and restore to the history of art a leading European artist whose life and career were cast into the shadows by Nazism and ended untimely in the hospital of Schwaz after an allied air-raid on Innsbruck.

To all those early pathfinders should now be added – in the 21^st century  – new supporters and friends who share the aims of the Christian Hess Cultural Association to keep alive the spirit and the art of the Maestro and to spread them still further via this electronic revival.
